Tariffs
Smart tariffs
A tariff is not a kettle. The rate depends on where you live, how you pay, and the hours the cheap window actually covers. This page does not invent those numbers.
Ranked on merit only Why there is no score yetWhen the rates are checked, the comparison will use published criteria a person can read: the unit rates by time of day, the standing charge, how long you are locked in, and whether the tariff needs a particular car, battery or heat pump. Commission will not be a criterion.
The Ofgem cap is a backstop for default tariffs, not a smart tariff. The plug-in solar calculator uses the cap unit rate only as a labelled default: 26.32p/kWh for 1 October to 31 December 2026.
Until a tariff has been checked against the supplier’s own pages, it will not appear as a ranked row. A feed can update a price we already publish. It cannot mint a new recommendation.
